Chiara Bugatti is an artist living and working in Stockholm.
She was born in Italy in 1991.
She holds a BFA and MFA respectively from the Academies of Fine Arts in Venice (Italy, 2014) and Umeå (Sweden, 2016) and a Postmaster from the Royal Institute of Art in Stockholm (Sweden, 2021).
Her artistic
practice is based on a deep interest in materiality and story-telling. Drawing on the tradition of sculpture, she produces works in the form of spatial installations, sculpture, performances and video. In each work, between construction and decay, and within these processes of transformation,
materials become mediums for exploring the space we inhabit, revealing its syntax and vulnerable structure.
Her work has been recently exhibited at Greenlight Triennial in Norway, Haninge Konsthall, Carl Eldhs Ateljémuseum, Mint Konsthall,
Uppsala and Borås Art Museums in Sweden, Fabrikken for Kunst og Design in Copenhagen, Denmark and
Stuttgart Art Museum in Germany. She was recently a grant holder at IASPIS in Stockholm and a fellow at
Akademie Schloss Solitude in Stuttgart.
